IMPROVED TRADITIONAL WATER SOURCE - PHC IN ELCT - NORTH-WESTERN DIOCESE
Diarrhoea is one of the top ten conditions which cause communities t o visit ELCT Health Facilities and other public health facilities in Tanzania. Among all death occurring in Tanzania, diarrhoea is responsible for % of deaths. Access to clean and safe drinking water can prevent most of these deaths. In 2004 Demographic Information showed the only 49% of rural population access safe drinking water. ELCT - PHC Projects in the dioceses are working with communities to protect Traditional Water Sources making them clean for provision of clean and safe water for household use.
