Bunda Hospital
Bunda District Designated Hospital is the newest the of ELCT hospitals first opened in 1992 and is owned by the Mbulu Diocese. The district population is 260 000, but in practice the catchment area is larger. Because the hospital is DDH and the prices are very low it attracts many patients. It has a bed capacity of 109 and bed occupancy is very high 120-140% daily. Therefore two new wards are being built.
As a District hospital it supervises 3 health centers and 28 dispensaries in the district. The hospital has 5 doctors and 5 clinical officers, 87 nurses of various levels and a total number of staff is 217.
