Ndolage Hospital is situated in the beautiful highlands of west of Victoria Lake. It is owned by North-Western Diocese. It has bed capacity of 240 beds, but is underutilized. The Ministry of Health bed grant is for only 120 beds and has not increased since 1970. The hospital must cover most of its operating budget with patient fees which has caused reduction of the number of patients, even though the hospitals wants to give service irrespective of the economical situation of patients.
The hospital also has a town clinic in Bukoba and a diploma level nursing school. It has 7 doctors, 7 Clinical Officers, 63 nurses and a total staff number of 154.
