Nkoaranga Hospital is owned by Meru Diocese. This Hospital was started as a small Dispensary in 1930's. Tgere are 80 beds for admissions and 30 beds for the Orphanage. This Hospital supervises five dispensaries within the Diocese of Meru. These dispensaries can admit 40 clients for a short time observation.80 staff members carry out Health Services within the Diocese. Catchment population is about 90,000 people.

The hospital has developed greatly during the last few years under the present leadership. About five years ago it was suggested that the hospital should be closed or downgraded to a health center. But with some help from different sources and good management the hospital has attracted more patients in the competitive health market of Arusha area. The struggle for improved services is continuing.

The hospital has 3 doctors, 1 dentist, 4 clinical officers and 4 assistant CO and 12 nurses.
