For nature lovers Karatu is excellent place to visit. The hospital is only 2 hours drive on a good tarmac road from Arusha close to the gate of Ngorongoro. Other parks in the close range are Manuara, Tarangire and Serengeti. Several busses go daily from Arusha. The hospital has not finnished yet all the buildings and there is not guesthouse for the time beeing, but in Karatu town 7km from the hospital there are many options to stay.
